I identify as a 1.5 generation immigrant with a multicultural background. I have a particular interest in helping my patients recover from chronic stress, family pressure and difficult experiences in childhood, adolescence and early adulthood. My therapeutic style is warm, thoughtful, direct and unhurried.
I obtained my Master’s degree at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco where I studied Integral Counseling Psychology - a holistic, mind-body-relational approach to psychology and wellbeing. The foundation of my clinical training is in mindfulness and existential therapy from Church Street Integral Counseling Center. In my practice, I honor the spiritual tradition of the indigenous Pilipinx Babaylan who are the original psychotherapists, healers, sages and priestesses of my people.
To support and care for my work and process, I engage in ongoing supervision, case consultation, trainings, advocacy and my own personal psychotherapy. In addition to my private practice, I serve as a school-based counselor at a public elementary school in Oakland.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I was involved in the arts and non-profit sectors for ten years where I worked closely with visual artists, creatives and Asian women-identified professionals & entrepreneurs.
